TapLynx for iPhone 1.4.3 works with iOS SDK 4.2

Monday, November 29th, 2010

You can download the latest version of TapLynx for iPhone here.

TapLynx 1.4.3 works with iOS SDK 4.2 — it requires the iOS 4.2 SDK, in fact, though it still builds apps that run on older OSes.

It’s otherwise the same as version 1.4.2. (We’ve been working on TapLynx for iPad, which is now in beta.)

360iDev: Another great round of sessions in beautiful Austin

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

The TapLynx team was in Austin last week for 360iDev: @brentsimmons, @newsgatortechie, and @nick_harris. If you haven’t attended one of these conferences I highly recommend it. It’s smaller, and therefore easier to sit down and have a chat with your favorite speakers.

I attended sessions by Michael Simmons (no official relationship to Brent) and Mike Lee, among others, and was able to take away a lot of useful information pertaining to marketing, branding, and building a community around your product. Also, I didn’t know this but a good portion of the highest grossing apps are free: they utilize in-app purchasing for the big bucks.

In addition to the knowledge and inspiration gathered therein, there was the usual conference shenanigans:
Yeee-haw Brent!
Got-dang Mike!

Brent has put his presentation slides up on his website. He spoke about epic code-reuse and the last slide of his presentation has words to live by.

We’re looking forward to 360MacDev right here in Denver, Colorado! It will take place at The Crowne Plaza Downtown on December 10th and 11th (more info here: http://www.360macdev.com/). You can get a discount to it by going here.

The Arosa app combines Quark publishing capabilities with TapLynx

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

A little while ago we announced our partnership with Quark, and the first app created using QPS content and the TapLynx framework is live!

It is called the Arosa app, and it acts as a helpful companion to visitors of this gorgous winter resort (the app is in German BTW). It not only includes detailed information on events, winter sports, accomadations, and nightlife, but it also includes a resort map to help you navigate the area. The app is free and you can download it here.

The app was created by Adverma, an advertising and marketing firm based in Deutschland. You can view the original site in German here or you can see a translated version here. Or hey, why not learn some German? Deutsch lernen ist nicht schwer!
